The Importance of Sharing Your Experience

Talking about your career and work experiences is a great way to grow your network and build your influence. Your experience is an important asset that you can use to help others in the labour market. Sometimes when you reach out it makes it easier for others with questions to connect with you. It is about making yourself available via Facebook groups and word-of-mouth that you are interested to sharing your experience. This does not mean you are mentoring someone–you are passing along information and knowledge on a short term basis. However, the possibility of mentoring someone is always there.

The idea of having someone there that can answer your questions is reassuring. Think about your own situation. Did you have someone that you could ask a few questions to when needed a bit of a direction? Regardless of how you answered it is always important to find someone that has been through various work experiences.
