Sometimes companies can seek you out (because of your specialized experience) or you can grow your portfolio via clients you have already worked with.

Leveraging Your Network

If you have been in an industry for a while you obviously have built a strong network of contacts. One of the keys to being a successful consultant is by leveraging one’s network and building a business from an already established client base. You can do very well as an independent consultant especially after building an extensive professional network over a period of time.

Building More Business

If you are already a consultant how can you become a more successful one? Look at your competition–what are they offering? Are they getting more business? Why?
